Chicago native Dr. Thomas Murphy received his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine before moving on to residency at Resurrection Medical Center and, finally sports medicine fellowship at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
He moved to the Bloomington-Normal area in 2018, where he now provides general sports medicine and musculoskeletal care at Carle McLean County Orthopedics. He enjoys working with patients of all ages and athletic levels and seeing patients with a wide variety of complaints to keep everyone performing at the highest level they can be as safely and pain-free as possible utilizing a variety of treatments including injections, minimally invasive office-based procedures, and regenerative medicine.
His quote he always says to patients is, “Everyone is an athlete. Whether your sport is football, walking, or playing with your grandkids, I want to get you back in the game as quickly as we can.” Outside of work, you can usually find him outdoors hiking or kayaking, trying new restaurants, going to the theater, or continuing to explore all the great things the community has to offer.
